When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a scheme to get revenge and shake up the industry. I want to start by saying that I went into this show with medium to low expectations, so there were no major disappointments or any real surprises. I knew about the actual maple syrup heist, saw the preview and thought it would be a fun show.
This is someone else’s work, spewed out again and again
And it might be fun to watch if you like a low-grade copy of Fargo by people who don’t understand any of the functional ingredients of the Coen brothers’ films. And I think you could say that all those little elements that they took from other films could be a tribute and a hat if they didn’t feel so awkwardly and inappropriately confident in their uniqueness. There is a certain complacency in the script and direction, which, frankly, is undeserved.
Caustic, inconspicuous, bad, strange-bad
This is the end of the telephone game, and the phrase is almost unrecognizable. The only real draw to the show, the one that kept me watching until the end, was the cast. They give 100%, even if the characters were the same archetypes that these actors always seem to play these days.

It seems that some members of the cast cannot escape the type that captured them. I want them to have a better range, even if they’re really good at what they’re stuck with all the time. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the loudest premieres on TV and streaming this month.
