This is how I feel now, I really don’t care who was to blame back then, I know one thing, that boy watching the race in the middle of the night, that boy singing “Senna Senna”, that boy crying because his hero died, that was me too. I was born a few years before he became F1 champion, and every Sunday I was there to watch him race for his life. We Brazilians watched as one of us became the greatest F1 driver of all time, carrying our flag and telling everyone that he had it all.

I feel sorry for all those who don’t know what it feels like to hear Galvão Bueno’s character say out loud “AYRTON SENNA DO BRASIL, CAMPEÃO MUNDIAL DE FORMULA 1”. (“Brazilian Ayrton Senna, Formula 1 World Champion”) and the song played in the series, played on many of our weekends for a few years, too bad it didn’t last longer. I cried at the end like I did in ’94, my childhood hero has become a myth, who cares if they didn’t tell the truth, I’ll live to see it, watching the series made me feel back then, and the series brought back all those happy and sad feelings.
