Paul King, the director of the previous two films, has decided not to direct this installment
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved aunt Lucy, who now lives at a retirement home for bears. When he joins the Brown family, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. However, he came up with the idea for this third film and is attached as an executive producer.
Paddington in Peru is a rather endearing but remarkable film
Graham Norton I Ghostly Starring: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). It certainly doesn’t reach the heights of Paddington 2, but it’s probably on par with the first. With a different director at the helm, this film takes a different angle as it moves the action out of London and into the jungles of Peru.
It creates an interesting story that flows quite well and maintains a good pace
This is probably a wise choice, as it helps the film feel fresh and different compared to the other two. It allows for a slightly different kind of story, and this one feels more thrilling and exciting. The humor is a little on the moderate side, but it’s definitely aimed at kids, so that’s more a reflection of my age than anything else.
It’s nice and soft
I think the emotional side is also a little lacking. I remember Paddington 2 making me cry, but this one feels a little softer. Actually, I think that word sums up this film.
