Hugh Jackman said he was truly done playing the Wolverine character after Logan (2017)
Story
Deadpool is offered a spot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction. The Deadpool and Wolverine team up to talk about how they bypassed the risqué jokes, and Emma Corrin opens up about working with good-guy megastars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. He later said he regretted that statement after watching the first Deadpool movie and expressed to Ryan his interest in the two characters meeting on the big screen. When asked why he chose to return for this film, he simply said, “I just wanted to do it, and I felt it in my gut,” adding that he wanted to have the best time possible on a movie set with Ryan Reynolds. Likewise, Reynolds had wanted to work alongside Jackman since the first Deadpool movie and was saddened when he (Jackman) stepped away from the role.
Fox killed him
While Wolverine and Deadpool are on their odyssey in the Honda Odyssey, the car clock jumps forward three hours during their conversation. Elliot Chipman: That’s Deadpool. Kevin Chipman: That’s Wolverine. Deadpool: You’re so right. Disney brought him back.

If you liked the previous Deadpool movies, you’ll like this one
The story may be a little confusing, but it was fun the entire time, I wasn’t bored for a second. The action was very bloody and goofy, the jokes were hardcore, and the movie is very meta. The one thing I particularly liked was that there are actually emotional scenes that aren’t actually undermined by the jokes, which is something a lot of the newer MCU movies tend to do. But this is still more of a Fox movie than an MCU movie. Hugh Jackman is incredible as Wolverine, and the cameos are really something special, especially since they’re usually more than that.

It’s fan service, but who cares: it’s a fun summer blockbuster that gives you what you pay for. The final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
