Previously, Jesse Eisenberg made When You Finish Saving the World, which was interesting but unfortunately a little annoying

Here, Eisenberg’s direction and writing for this film shows that he has improved a lot, as many of the characters are interesting and engaging, with good dialogue and great performances, especially from Kieran Culkin, who steals the show throughout the film. The narrative explores family history and complicated bonds, as each of the themes and explorations of the subjects were well handled and were funny, moving and engaging to watch.

There were a few soundtrack choices that felt a little out of place

Including beautiful camera work, a good score and conversations that felt real, genuine and engaging to watch. Eisenberg’s approach to chemistry, structure and pacing was good, as he created a really good, engaging and personal story about family history and the true meaning of bonds and relationships.

But overall, Eisenberg has improved and I look forward to seeing what else he has to offer today.

On the 20th anniversary of the horrific Christmas Eve murders at St. Agnes Church, a demonic preacher from the past returns to haunt the townspeople. Parker Finn’s feature film debut, ‘Smile’, was a tense horror that made commentary on the devastating effects of trauma. Featuring striking visuals and production design, along with an atmospheric soundtrack, the film was both compelling and creepy, following a psychiatrist who becomes convinced that she is being stalked by an invisible entity after witnessing a violent incident. Featuring a strong central performance from Sosie Bacon, ‘Smile’ performed well at the box office, grossing $217.4 million on a $17 million budget. Although critical opinion was mixed, just months after its release, Finn was thinking about a sequel, noting that “there’s still a lot of interesting things to explore in the world of Smile…” Two years later, ‘Smile 2’ is here. This time, the action follows pop singer Skye Riley, who begins to experience increasingly disturbing events on the cusp of a world tour.

Smile 2 is a very rare beast: a sequel that is arguably better than its predecessor

Forced to confront her dark past, can Skye regain control of her life before it spirals out of control? As in the first, the theme of trauma is cleverly woven into the narrative, along with the themes of control, psychosis, grief and addiction that become the axes around which the horror turns. Riley must wrestle with both her inner demons and the “smile creature,” who is never sure what is reality or fantasy. The film reunites Finn with most of the crew from the original, including cinematographer Charlie Sonoff. His work on the first film created an unnerving atmosphere of unpredictable instability; as he does once again. Sarnoff’s use of lighting effectively builds contrast and mood, while his framing of the images heightens the suspense of the narrative.

While the songs written for Riley’s character are fairly generic, they are well-performed (and considerably better than the similar tunes written for Lady Raven’s character in M. Lester Cohen’s detailed production adds an element of realism, grounding the film despite the fantastical horror of its narrative.

A family is invited to spend an entire weekend at a lonely home in the country, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that a dark side lurks within the family that invited them… The story is inspired by the experiences of Kristian Tafdrup, director of the original Danish Speak No Evil (2022), who befriends a Dutch couple while on holiday in Tuscany with his wife . Although the Dutch were a little socially awkward, the two couples got along very well, and after returning home, Tafdrup received an invitation from the Dutch family to come to Holland. If you really give this 1 star, you are not serious about doing reviews and are just a hater. The movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the movie, it’s not your typical thriller to begin with and the suspense was really well built and kept me interested throughout.

McAvoy just outshines the others in this movie

Unfortunately, movie characters do a lot of illogical things that will make you hit your head. But I was actually really surprised and I think this surpasses the original in every aspect, both cinematically and acting wise. McAvoy’s phenomenal portrayal of a creepy psychopath is incredible and makes you want to hide in your seat. The final season of "What We Do in the Shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
