Social realism drama / tragicomedy / romantic drama

What a great movie, very unique and realistic, exactly the movie that was needed. It’s a movie about a lonely woman who is looking for some joy under the totalitarian regime of Iran, but things didn’t go as she had planned. But it’s more of a backdrop for the real stories and issues that were presented in its rich plot. Cool, real, sad, funny, unique, professional, courageous, rich, interesting, balanced, entertaining, inspiring, caring, shocking and above all eloquent.

Taboo-breaking and unconventional for Iranian cinema. Excellent direction. Excellent screenplay. Very good acting.

Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so that they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, build housing for workers (man camps), assemble the excavation machinery, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixer, part problem solver, and part facilitator.

It’s his show!

Taylor Sheridan makes her female characters very shallow even when they seem strong, so this show is no different. But, the show wins for me because Billy Bob steals the show in every scene; even the ones where the half-naked women appear! The way the oil business is portrayed is probably very accurate to how the industry is run.

His female characters are so flawed

BB has the best lines describing the value of oil and what makes the world go round (oil). The sets are awesome, the way the rigs work is actually quite enlightening. I just don’t get why the girl is such a bimbo and the woman such a loser, but I guess that’s Sheridan’s way.

But for good lines and Billy Bob Thornton at his best, watch this show

He’s brilliant.

In the opening credits, letters in the names of the cast and crew are highlighted in green to represent chemical element symbols. However, the "Ch" in Michael Slovis' name was highlighted in several early episodes, even though Ch is not a chemical element symbol.

In later episodes, only the "C" (for Carbon) is highlighted.. Walter White: Who are you talking to right now? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work?

All episodes were rerun on an on-demand cable channel in some areas, without commercials but with additional scenes not included on AMC.. Although some of the dialogue ends up feeling off-putting that destroys the realism aspects at times.

As a whole, it's beautiful and mediative approach on the Civil War is something I find interesting.I know this one isn't going to be on many people's liking but I like this a lot.
