Bailey seeks attention and adventure elsewhere
Bailey lives with her brother Hunter and her single-parent father Bug in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time to devote to them.
Adapted from Fontaines DC: Bug (2024)
Barry Keoghan dropped out of Gladiator II (2024) to star in this film instead.. This is an excellent coming-of-age story, reminiscent of “Wild Diamond”; but in my opinion, it’s done even better.
We follow the life of Bailey, a 12-year-old girl living in a deprived area of the UK
From the very beginning, it’s clear that Bailey sees the world differently from the people around her. Nature, animals and especially birds symbolize freedom and ease, a feeling that comes across in real life.
At first, she mocks Bird, but eventually her mockery turns to admiration
Bailey meets Bird, a character who embodies the person she aspires to become. Bailey faces many challenges, and Bird subtly guides her toward a solution.
The journey and growth that Bailey experiences is what really matters
Some questions remain unanswered, but to me, the specific answers don’t matter.
