He’s smart
He’s adorable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During Season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas. His son David Zayas Jr.

replaces his father in some scenes, as the two look remarkably alike. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in the second season, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side intact. Over the years, my eyes adjusted, until darkness became my world and I could see.

In film and screenwriting, it is a good idea to limit the narrative of the characters by letting the actions, conversations, and scenes speak for themselves. However, if there is an exception, it is Dexter! From the beginning, I found myself captivated by the character of Dexter, a dark and introverted individual. The strength of the character development was evident, reinforced by impeccable casting and an engaging, crime-filled storyline.
Seasons 1 and 2 stood out exceptionally, earning a commendable 9/10
However, the quality of the show began to decline after that. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama weighed down what was once a classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt a gradual decline in his charm, including that of Debra. The writing and directing were solid, but Dexter himself was the imposing centerpiece while his portrayal of dark humor remained a standout.
However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are a must-see and not to be missed
His narration throughout the episodes offered a unique perspective where we learned how he perceived things, people, and crime; it was absolutely captivating. I recommend this series, but I encourage viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose how many seasons to indulge in.
