And yes, I am aware of how horribly structured that sentence is
Story
A detective and a nun investigate a series of heinous crimes that seem personal, while dealing with personal issues and uncovering a sinister web that raises more questions than answers. Ed Laclan’s mustang is the same color and has the same license plate as the car in The Italian Job 2WQI332. Nurse Redd: I get chills just thinking about it… I’m almost done with episode four and I feel like I’m watching a midlife crisis mashup of someone who is aware of their neurodivergent narrative (but doesn’t care what we think about that ADHD method) and then added some borderline fetishistic schizophrenia and then got lost telling the original story. It’s me emulating the pacing and tone plus general confusion about what the hell I’m watching.
Who is this about?
Who do I care about here? And please tell me why (for the love of storytelling, please tell me why I’m watching this). It’s so scattered that I welcomed Taylor’s boyfriend into the chaotic mix of a cast. I’m not even a fan.
It’s got a solid vibe, I see the appeal
Which means there’s no fandom at all, I’m just happy to have something to relate to or be remotely interested in. But let’s talk about Niecy Nash: I want to have a little chat with her agent because she’s being subsidized and underutilized. Stop putting her in these ridiculous detective roles that she doesn’t even seem to be interested in. She’s better than those roles and it doesn’t help to keep trying.
She’s wise, beautiful and talented
Find her the roles that have the scope and she’ll shine. (Sorry, but these roles give us time to think about her wasted talent.) All the actors are pretty good too, but there’s a very unnatural chaotic point of view that hurts to try to follow. I mean random chants and fires and sermons about life and seeing the weird metaphorical depiction of some outdated religious stuff but I guess that’s okay because you add a few lines of online activity and suddenly it’s not the same thing we’ve seen over and over again. Yuck.
Is there a plot?
I gave it a six because the actors showed up and stayed in the scenes. Maybe they were just as confused as I was because I care more about that than the plot.
